Toni Miranda joins AWAAIT’s team as Chief Innovation Officer

With this incorporation, the start-up grows its team to 7 people, more than doubling the staff this year.

Barcelona, August 2017 – Awaait Artificial Intelligence S.L. is pleased to announce that Toni Miranda is joining the company as Chief Innovation Officer. He will focus mainly on maintaining and expanding AWAAIT’s positive innovation gap, whilst managing the H2020 SME Instrument grant. With this new incorporation, AWAAIT’s team grows to 7 people, which more than doubles the staff in 2017.

Miranda has extensive experience in the technology commercialization sector, coming from the role as New Ventures Manager for Texas A&M University System. He has also trained and mentored innovators at Austin IC2 Institute (The University of Texas), helped creative new ventures by mentoring IT/Wireless based start-ups at the Austin Technology Incubator and Technova Barcelona and promoted collaborative R&D projects at Tech Transfer La Salle Barcelona. Prior to that, Toni worked on project management, software development and the design and security of technology infrastructures at Atos Origin and One Access in Paris and at Unitronics in Barcelona.

In his role as Chief Innovation Officer, Toni Miranda will manage AWAAIT’s H2020 SME Instrument Phase 2 grant, awarded earlier in 2017, with two main objectives: scale up and internationalize the company’s DETECTOR system and expand AWAAIT’s current positive innovation gap.

Toni holds a MS in Technology Commercialization from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and a BS and a MS in Telecom Engineering from Polytechnic University of Catalonia and La Salle Engineering School, respectively.
